Cozy Fall Kitchen Decor Supplies I Love
Here are 10 must-have seasonal decor items for a simple fall kitchen
13 Cottage Fall Kitchen Decorating Ideas
I’ve gathered my very favorite fall decor ideas in one spot and can’t wait to share them with you. Autumn is such a fun season to decorate for, and it’s really simple as well.
A great starting point for adding cozy fall kitchen decor is to bring in warm colors, fresh scents, apples, and of course, all things pumpkin.
Here are more tips and ideas to decorate your kitchen for fall.
1. Warm Color Palette
To set the stage for a cozy fall kitchen, start with warm fall colors.
Think rich and earthy tones like deep reds, oranges, burgundy, gold, and warm browns. Add flowers or decor items in this color palette to instantly create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
2. Fall Flowers and Seasonal Fruit and Veggies
Both flowers and seasonal fruits and vegetables are always a big part of my home decor no matter what the season.
Use them in a fall centerpiece or on a kitchen countertop. Be creative with the vessel you use for flowers. A beautiful white pitcher, a rusty galvanized bucket, or a traditional glass vase are all great options for the autumn season.
If you don’t have fresh flowers available, invest in some faux flowers.
Dried Hydrangeas
Have you ever dried hydrangeas from your garden? It is so easy to dry them and they make the best fall decor. They’ll last well into winter if you care for them.
Mums and Fresh Pumpkins
Enjoy the winning combination of chrysanthemums and pumpkins in your fall kitchen. I absolutely love how they play off of one another during the season.
Fresh Flower Bouquets
Cut fresh flowers from your garden, or if you don’t have that option, pick some up at Trader Joe’s or another store.
I am so fortunate to still have many of my cut flowers still blooming. Zinnias, dahlias, autumn sedum joy, and black-eyed Susans create the perfect autumn bouquets.
Seasonal Fruits and Vegetables
Mixing both faux and fresh fruits and vegetables in the kitchen is another way I create fall decor vignettes.
Here are a few fruits and veggies that would look perfect on a kitchen counter or table:
Artificial flowers, fruits, and vegetables have come a long way and are so realistic. If a fresh option doesn’t work, go with the faux.
3. Seasonal Tablescapes
Embrace the fall season by setting your kitchen table with fall-inspired tableware and linens. Look for dishes with autumn motifs, and use natural elements like leaves, pine cones, and acorns as centerpiece decorations.
Here are some fall tablescapes I’ve created:
4. Wicker Home Decor
Wicker is a great choice for cozy fall kitchen decor.
Its woven texture gives a warm, rustic feel that goes well with the autumn vibe and other seasonal elements sharing the space.
Wicker’s neutral colors match the earthy tones of fall, making it a good fit for seasonal decor this time of year. Whether it’s a basket or a pair of dining table chairs, wicker is an easy way to transform your seasonal space.
5. Fall-Inspired Lighting
Choose warm and cozy lighting fixtures to enhance the atmosphere in your kitchen. Candle sconces and lanterns are a perfect choice when it comes to bringing warmth to your kitchen.
Because we get a lot of clouds and rain during the fall months, our home can get very dark. I’ve personally never been a fan of overhead lighting. In our cottage, it’s much cozier with a little lamp on the kitchen counter or island. And I always have a candle or two burning.
6. Fall Kitchen Decor for Open Shelving
Using open shelves in your kitchen for fall decor is a simple and stylish way to embrace the season.
Start by clearing your open shelves and giving them a good cleaning. Then, display items with a fall theme like rustic mugs, autumn-themed plates, and other simple fall touches. Vintage collections are also perfect for showing off on open shelves.
Mix in some natural elements like pinecones or small pumpkins for an extra touch of fall charm. As the season progresses, you can easily switch out or add new decor items to keep your kitchen feeling fresh and festive.
Open shelving allows you to showcase your favorite fall pieces while keeping them easily accessible, making your kitchen feel cozy and ready for autumn.
7. Copper Kitchen Decor for Fall
When I hear the words “fall kitchen decor” I immediately think of copper. There’s just something about the way it pops the entire kitchen.
It’s the perfect time to incorporate copper decor into your kitchen for the fall season. What a wonderful way to add warmth and a touch of rustic charm to your cozy fall kitchen.
Place copper pots, pans, kettles, mugs, or utensils on countertops, tables, shelves, or a pot rack for display. Their rich, reddish-brown coloring complements the fall color palette beautifully.
You can usually find a good deal when looking for copper decor. Most of the copper pieces I have in my kitchen are from flea markets and thrift stores.
8. Warm Wood Accents
Integrating warm wood accents into your kitchen for the fall season adds a cozy and natural touch.
Warm elements such as wooden cutting boards, breadboards, utensils, wooden bowls and trays, and dough bowls in your kitchen’s decor pair perfectly with the colors and textures of fall.
Wooden shelves to display your autumn-themed decor items and wooden frames for art can further enhance the rustic appeal.
If you’re looking for fall decor for a kitchen island, dough bowls are a great option.
Dough bowls are a great way to show off your best fall decor and so easy to change up the looks whenever you want. I use pomegranates, apples, oranges, eucalyptus, olive branches, and pumpkins in mine.
9. Natural Elements
Bring the beauty of nature indoors by using pinecones, acorns, and leaves in your decor. Place them in decorative bowls or vases around your kitchen for a rustic and autumnal touch.
Smaller fresh pumpkins and seasonal fruit would look amazing in a vintage copper bowl as well.
Here are some natural element options to use for your cozy fall kitchen decor:
Dried Flowers
Use fresh or dried flowers like sunflowers and mums to bring a burst of seasonal color and fragrance to your space.
I hang my dried flowers from the cutting garden off my pot rack through the season.
Potted Plants and Herbs
Add small potted plants or herbs to your kitchen windowsill, infusing your cooking area with a fresh and natural vibe.
10. Show Off Your Mini Pumpkins and Gourds
When it comes to simple decor ideas for a cozy fall kitchen, there’s nothing easier than bringing some pumpkins and gourds to the table.
You’d be surprised by how many ways you can display a mini pumpkin with any of your kitchen vignettes. Set them in an ironstone bowl or glass cloche to transform any kitchen space to fall.
11. Faux Olive Branches and Euculyptus
Use faux olive branches and eucalyptus stems in vases or jars to create beautiful, low-maintenance arrangements. I found a faux mini olive tree which I love displaying during the fall months.
You can also intertwine branches and stems with your existing decor or drape them along shelves and cabinets.
12. Fill Your Kitchen Space with Fall Fragrances
Fill your kitchen space with the comforting fragrances of fall. There are several simple methods that will infuse your kitchen with the comforting and nostalgic scents of the season, making it feel like a cozy haven during the fall months.
Fall Simmer Pot
Simmer a pot of water on the stove with aromatic ingredients like cinnamon sticks, cloves, and orange peels. As it simmers, it will release a warm and inviting scent throughout your kitchen.
Fall Potpourri
Use a bowl of potpourri featuring autumn scents, such as dried spices, pinecones, and citrus peels.
Diffusers with Essential Oils
Another great way to add fall fragrance to your home is to add essential oils to a diffuser. There are so many amazing-smelling essential oil combinations for the fall season, including vanilla, pumpkin pie, and apple cider.
Fall Scented Candles
When it comes to cozy fall kitchen decor, scented candles in fragrances like pumpkin spice or apple pie are the perfect choice.
I always have a fall-scented candle burning in autumn. Not only do candles provide soft lighting during the autumn season, but the kitchen smells like I’m baking pumpkin bread or baking cookies.
Antique Candle Co. has the most amazing scents available for fall. Don’t you wish there was some sort of scratch-and-sniff feature available here?

Salted Caramel
A cozy scent of homemade caramel candies with a sweet and creamy blend of sugar, butter, and vanilla, topped with fresh sea salt.
Vanilla Chai
A warm aroma of steeped tea with cozy blends of cardamom, clove, and nutmeg, mixed with sweet notes of vanilla, sugar, and cinnamon.
Spice Cake
A cozy scent of spiced vanilla cake, intertwined with a warm, sweet medley of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger, and hazelnut.
13. Cozy Textiles
If you’re looking for warm and cozy autumn vibes, cozy textures are a great fall kitchen decor choice.
Layer your kitchen with cozy textiles like flannel and plaid table runners, throw blankets, and textured cushions. Adding these textures not only adds warmth but also creates a welcoming ambiance.
These simple fall kitchen decor ideas will help you create a cozy and welcoming space that celebrates the beauty of fall.
Embrace the season, get creative, and enjoy the warmth and comfort of your autumn-inspired kitchen.
