Saltwater Sounds Weekly: November Shopping

  • Facebook
  • Email

Welcome to Saltwater Sounds, a collection of ideas, tips, and inspiration. This is where I share all that’s been happening in the world of Shiplap and Shells, what’s to come and the inspiration I have found from other bloggers around the web.

Christmas home décor

This and That…

Happy November! I don’t know about you but the months are just flying by and it’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away.

I had a very busy week, but it was all fun and there was a lot of shopping involved.

We found some vintage snowshoes at an antique mall while on our overnight boat trip.

There were some incredible holiday open houses in Poulsbo on Friday and of course, I was there right when the stores opened. I’ll share some of the beautiful Christmas holiday decor I saw later in the post.

The Seattle weather is back!

Torrential rainfall with flood advisories and strong winds was what we experienced here last week. And with that, I basically said goodbye to the garden.

It’s definitely time to nest and stay comfy and warm indoors.

Holiday Shopping

Whether you’re ready or not, the Christmas and winter holiday home decor is out and people are buying!

I shared a few things that I bought at Target a week or two ago and some of these items are already sold out. My advice to you is that if you are needing some new holiday decorations, start looking now before their gone.

I had the best time traveling to Poulsbo on Friday for the holiday open houses. Let me show you some of the highlights.

Details Home and Garden

This is such an amazing store, especially during the winter holidays.

They closed the store for a week so they could create all the magic that you see here. There were MANY themed trees which I’ll show you in a blog post I’m writing for the next week or so.

But in the meantime, here are some of my favorite views. I loved this space with all the silver. It looks even more amazing in person.

I’ll share the inspiration I found for my own Christmas tree and what I ended up taking home next week.

Saltwater Antiques

If you’re looking for vintage at good prices, you’ll definitely want to visit Saltwater Antiques. I LOVE the people who work here and the selection of vintage and antique pieces.

Be sure to get a latte while you’re there as well. They’re delicious!

Red Plantation

Here’s a home decor store with lots of booths and a mix of old and new.

I bought the coolest hanging basket and can’t wait to show you what I’ve done with it in my home.

A Boat Trip to Olympia

We were able to take an overnight boat trip last week to Olympia just to get away and relax.

Our time there was very short but sweet. We went out to dinner and did some shopping.

This is a cute store called Compass Rose.

Antique mall

Next stop with the Courtyard Antiques and Home Decor Mall. I found more large antique pieces than smaller items. They really had a great selection of furniture upstairs.

Antique glass cabinet

I really loved the piece on the left and would have possibly bought it if we had driven rather than come by boat.

The other obstacle was finding a place in our home for it.

A Boat Tour

Since I was on the boat I thought I would take a few pictures.

Above is a picture of the salon. We’re waiting for a Pottery Barn ottoman that should ship in mid-December.

I absolutely love cooking in our galley.

The hallway goes to the master stateroom which is pictured on the right.

There are 2 other staterooms, 2 heads, and stairs to the pilot house off the hall as well.

Here’s the eating area on the other side of the galley bar and across from the stateroom.

A Walk Through the Garden

Unfortunately, there isn’t much to see after a week of rain and wind. There’s a lot to cut back right now.

I’ll be working on transplanting the remainder of my geraniums into individual containers to overwinter in the greenhouse. I’ve got to get this done by end of the day Tuesday when it’s forecasted to hit below-freezing temperatures.
