Starting seeds indoors gives your plants a head start and perfect for regions with short growing seasons. It's also a cost-effective method.

Success starts with the right seeds. Opt for varieties known for their resilience and suitability for indoor starting.

1

Some of the supplies you'll need are seed trays or pots, high-quality seed starting mix, labels, and a water source. A grow light or a sunny window is needed for light.

2

Fill containers with moistened  seed starting mix. Sow your seeds following the depth and spacing recommendations on the packet. Lightly cover the seeds with soil, label each container, and gently water.

3

Seedlings require plenty of light to grow strong and healthy. Position them near a bright window or under grow lights for 14-16 hours a day.

4

Do  not to overhead water after you’ve placed the seeds in the container.   Watering from the bottom allows the roots to be watered thoroughly.

5

Monitor your seedlings daily for growth and health. Look out for the first true leaves, a sign your plants are ready for the next step.

6

Once your seedlings are sturdy and the outdoor temperatures are suitable, begin the hardening off process. Gradually expose them to outdoor conditions to acclimate them.

7

With patience and care, you'll transform tiny seeds into flourishing plants that brighten your garden. For more tips on sowing seeds indoors, visit the blog.
