Valentine’s Day Cloche & Pinterest Challenge
The Pinterest Challenge, hosted by Cindy from County Road 407, is where a group of bloggers recreate an inspirational photo in their own distinctive decorating style.
Our inspiration photo this month comes from Birgit of Crafting While I Wait.
Items To Incorporate
When recreating this Valentine’s Day cloche, I wanted to incorporate key elements from the inspirational photo. While staying true to the original concept, I wanted to make use of items available in my own home.
I included:
SHOP GLASS CLOCHES
This wire heart on a stand was the main focal point in my Valentine cloche dome.
I added wooden heart ornaments, a crocheted doily from my vintage doily collection, and a few white buttons to my Valentine Day decor.
A small marble cheese board was used for a base.
For a second heart in my cloche dome, I cut some scrapbook paper into three heart shapes and glued them to each other.
When you think of Valentine decor, what comes to mind? How about hearts? Here are different ideas you could use in your cloche for Valentine’s Day:
Here are some home decor items you can shop for to make a similar glass cloche for Valentine’s Day:
WOODEN HEART ORNAMENTS
VALENTINE’S DAY SCRAPBOOK PAPER
Vintage Items for Your Valentine’s Day Vignette
As much as I wanted a vintage theme for my Valentine’s cloche, I didn’t have anything around the house that would fit inside. So I improvised.
If you want to create a timeless vintage Valentine cloche, shop your favorite thrift store or antique mall for the following:
Other Valentine’s Day Ideas for Cloches
Succulent Love Cup Cloche
For a simple yet charming Valentine’s cloche, consider using a cup or mug filled with faux succulents or flowers. This easy idea adds a touch of greenery and seasonal charm to any space.
I found this “Love” cup with faux succulents at HomeGoods for $4.99.
SHOP SUCCULENT CUPS
Transferware Cup Cloche
Bring a touch of vintage elegance to your Valentine’s Day home decor with timeless red and white transferware cups filled with decorative rosettes.
Finishing touches such as moss and Scrabble tiles spelling out the word “love” complement this Valentine’s glass cloche beautifully.
White Chocolate Strawberry Cloche
Finding items that fit underneath a small cloche can be challenging. Using food like muffins, cookies, and candy is always a great option.
This glass cloche features faux white chocolate-dipped strawberries, the perfect Valentine’s Day vignette. They look so realistic, don’t they?
SHOP CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES
Cup of Pink Flowers Cloche
This black and white patterned cup is filled with faux pink flowers. A sprinkling of moss along the bottom and a round marble cheese board for the base finish this Valentine’s display perfectly.
Pink Kalanchoe Ball Cloche
This is a simple, yet pretty little vignette. The seasonal cloche displays a vibrant pink kalanchoe ball that brings a burst of color to any Valentine’s Day centerpiece.
The Neutral Cloche
Valentine’s Day decor ideas don’t always have to have bright colors. Break away from traditional reds and pinks with a neutral-themed Valentine’s cloche.

Incorporate elements like a sheet of music scroll, wooden little hearts, and rosettes from previous Christmas decor to create a statement piece that’s unique to most Valentine’s decor ideas.
The sheet of music scroll and rosettes were leftover from our Christmas decor. I used every detail from this cloche in at least one of the others.
These Valentine’s Day cloche ideas offer a variety of inspiration for your home decor.
Whether you decorate with classic romantic themes or your style is more neutral, there’s a cloche design just for you.

Thank you Rachel. I was surprised I even thought to display them that way!
Aww Kim these are all adorable. I just took some screenshots so I can refer to your ideas in valentines day. <3
These are all so beautiful Kim! I can’t pick a favorite!! That sweet little cloche with the strawberries! I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a little cute one like that! Love the stacked teacups!!! You always inspire me!
Thank you, Kristin. It was a lot of fun to make these. I have never styled cloches before for Valentine’s Day.
How on earth can I choose a fave when you offer so many creative ideas?? The two that stand out to me are the one with the paper scrolls leftover from Christmas and the transfer were teacups> Great ideas Kim! Pinned ?
Thank you, Cindy. Those seem to be the two favorites. I need to get more of the music scrolls. I really love them.
Kim, you have so many great cloche ideas! I pinned several of them. I have the big round wood tray from Magnolia too, and love it. It’s so versatile and I enjoyed seeing how you styled it.
Niky @ The House on Silverado
Thank you, Niky! I really appreciate you pinning. We need all the help we can get these days, right? I do love our round wooden tray. I love how everything looks in it and the price was right!
Kim, I have the same wooden tray and loved it so much that I made a table out if it. But now that I see it as a tray and so beautiful, I am taking it back! Love the way you styled it! Beautiful ideas!
Thank you, Melba. I really love that tray and use it all the time!
You are so clever!
Love all these ideas rock star!
Happy day!
KariAnne
I love it when someone calls me clever and that I have rock star ideas. You’ve made my day sweet friend.
Kim, I love all 7 of your creative cloche designs. Really, you outdid yourself. You used so many great ingredients in every vignette. I can’t pick a favorite.
That is such a nice compliment, Carol. I really appreciate it and it’s always so fun to do these with you.
I love all your cloche inspo Kim! So many great vintage touches from the transferware to the doilie. I also love anything with sheet music. The grapevine heart totally got me tho- anything with a rustic, organic vibe always stops me in my tracks. Have a great day. XO- MaryJo
Thank you MaryJo. This was actually a really fun challenge.
Oh Kim there are so many wonderful ideas in your post! I adore the neutral post and of course the red transferware. bravo!
That is so sweet of you Laura. Thank you so much.
I DO love that neutral one at the end, Kim. It’s very inspiring. I tried to go more neutral with mine, but it got away from me! LOL! As always, love hopping with you! Pinned!
My favorite too. But I think you made a great decision to use color in yours. It was really beautiful Julie.
Beautiful ideas, but the transferware cups with the scrabble letters is my favorite! Argh, now I want red and white transferware! If I find any for a good deal…;) Love that new sofa, btw; thought something looked different in your living room!
I was so excited when I found that red and white transferware. We bought a new couch in November and I was a little nervous because I’ve never gotten anything like that before but we are loving it!
I love all of your creative Valentine cloche! The one you designed for the challenge with the sheet music is my favorite. Great improvisation!
Thank you so much, Amber. It was so much fun!
I just adore the knit doily under the cloche Kim. It’s a small detail, but it is just so pretty. I don’t know how you come up with so many fabulous ideas, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be the stack of tea cups. Pinning!
Thank you, Michelle. I have a stack of vintage doilies and have never used them so glad I was able to incorporate it for today’s challenge. Thank you for the kind words, my friend.
Kim

Oh my golly, I can’t choose a favorite! You have such creativity and you know I’m going to adore anything that’s pink. You cloche looks perfect with your new pillows and pink accents. Thank you for joining in.
Thank you, Cindy. I do like how everything matches my new pillows. I love them so much. This was a really fun challenge. Always so fun to join you all,.
You have so many unique and beautiful cloche ideas Kim! I’m partial to the one with the red transferware cups and moss, but they’re all fantastic!
Thank you so much, Cindy. I do like that I was able to show something with red in it with the transferware. Everything I had seemed to be pink.
Each cloche that you shared is so pretty. Since you didn’t have a vintage Valentine’s card to use, you were smart to make one using scrapbook paper.
Thank you, Paula. I am definitely going to try to find some vintage cards for next year.
hi Kim
I love all of your variations! What great ideas for Valentine’s Day!
Thank you so much, Laura. This was so much fun and I loved everyone’s interpretation.
