Use clean and sharp pruners or garden shears to make a clean cut just above a leaf node or lateral branch. This promotes healthy growth.
Place harvested flowers immediately in a bucket or container filled with water. This prevents dehydration and helps maintain their freshness.
Remove any leaves or foliage that will be submerged in water. This prevents bacterial growth and keeps the water clean for longer vase life.
Remove thorns, excess foliage, and any damaged petals. Cut stems at an angle and place them in water for a few hours.
Store your harvested flowers in a cool, dark location for a few hours or overnight before arranging them. This helps them firm up and last longer.
