Spring Kitchen Counters & Pinterest Challenge
Are you ready for another Pinterest Challenge? If this is your first time hearing about the Pinterest Challenge, let me explain.
Every month, our fabulous host Cindy from County Road 407, selects an inspiration photo for everyone to recreate. Each participant puts their own spin on the photo, according to each of our individual and unique styles of decorating.

Our inspiration photo this month comes from Marly at Maryl Dice. As you can see, her kitchen has all the touches of spring.
I loved the quote in Marly’s blog post… “Life happens in the kitchen”. Isn’t that the truth??? We spend so much time in our kitchen, and I don’t always give it as much “decor love” as I should. But Marly inspired me to refresh my favorite room in the house for spring.
Items To Incorporate
I used many of the same elements as possible from the inspirational photo. The fact that I only used home décor items already in the house was a bonus and goes nicely with my “simple” refresh. I wanted to include:
Spring in the kitchen is all about the flowers and fruit, which add the perfect pop of color. And it doesn’t hurt that a blooming camellia tree is located right outside the kitchen window.
I cut these beautiful yellow blooms from the garden to fill my white pitcher. Japanese roses bloom here from April to May, one of the most gorgeous flowers in the spring garden.
Rather than using my Ironstone coffee cups, I displayed the blue and white espresso cups. I found them at HomeGoods and love how they look with the bright yellow flowers.
Of course, I had to display my new Ironstone pieces like this one. Isn’t it pretty?
A dough bowl full of green apples is simple yet creates just the right amount of interest.
Here are a couple more Ironstone pieces displayed on the kitchen counter with lemons and greenery.
I love this scalloped bowl I found at a local shop called Details Home and Garden.

Love your blog but there’s a problem with subscribing to it. Over the past several weeks, I have entered my name and email address 4 times in attempts to subscribe and I receive a pop-up that says “watch your email inbox for a message that will confirm.” However, I never get that promised message nor do I receive notification that there’s a newly posted blog.
