The Pinterest Challenge, hosted by Cindy from County Road 407, is where a group of bloggers recreate an inspirational photo in their own distinctive decorating style.

Our inspiration photo this month comes from Birgit of Crafting While I Wait.

Items To Incorporate

When recreating this Valentine’s Day cloche, I wanted to incorporate key elements from the inspirational photo. While staying true to the original concept, I wanted to make use of items available in my own home.

I included:

  • Glass dome cloche
  • 2 hearts
  • Ribbon for the top of the cloche
  • White buttons

This wire heart on a stand was the main focal point in my Valentine cloche dome.

I added wooden heart ornaments, a crocheted doily from my vintage doily collection, and a few white buttons to my Valentine Day decor.

A small marble cheese board was used for a base.

pink and white scrapbook paper and ribbon

For a second heart in my cloche dome, I cut some scrapbook paper into three heart shapes and glued them to each other.

When you think of Valentine decor, what comes to mind? How about hearts? Here are different ideas you could use in your cloche for Valentine’s Day:

  • paper hearts
  • quilted heart
  • fabric hearts
  • wood bead hearts

Here are some home decor items you can shop for to make a similar glass cloche for Valentine’s Day:

As much as I wanted a vintage theme for my Valentine’s cloche, I didn’t have anything around the house that would fit inside. So I improvised.

If you want to create a timeless vintage Valentine cloche, shop your favorite thrift store or antique mall for the following:

Neutral Valentines cloche

The Neutral Cloche

Valentine’s Day decor ideas don’t always have to have bright colors. Break away from traditional reds and pinks with a neutral-themed Valentine’s cloche.

Incorporate elements like a sheet of music scroll, wooden little hearts, and rosettes from previous Christmas decor to create a statement piece that’s unique to most Valentine’s decor ideas.

The sheet of music scroll and rosettes were leftover from our Christmas decor. I used every detail from this cloche in at least one of the others.

These Valentine’s Day cloche ideas offer a variety of inspiration for your home decor.

Whether you decorate with classic romantic themes or your style is more neutral, there’s a cloche design just for you.
