Welcome to February!
I’m in Dallas with some blogging friends this weekend and enjoying the warm weather. It’s been a welcome change from the cold temperatures we’ve been having back home. I heard it snowed a bit in our area, and I may even see some next week.

The days are starting to feel a little longer and that much closer to spring. There isn’t too much going on in the winter garden, but we’ve cleaned it up.
The pansies and violas are waking up again.
Last week brought sunny skies and gorgeous sunsets.
Primroses are one of the earliest flowers to bloom in February and are the birth flower for the month. They’re currently at our local Costco!
The white and purple primroses look perfect growing in my porch planter.
The hellebores (lenten roses) are beautiful this time of year. They’re perfect for your winter flower arrangements.
The daffodils are just about to bloom in the cutting garden’s raised beds.
I spy some tulips coming up through the mulched leaves we spread through the garden last fall.
Do you have evergreen outdoor ferns in your garden?
Do you see how they can turn brown and start to look tired? Read my blog post on how to cut back ferns every year to get new frond growth. Trust me, it’s worth it!
The sedum autumn joy has new growth.
Rather than cutting back the old growth last fall, I kept the sedum plants for the wildlife throughout the winter.
