Creating a May Spring Table with Fresh Lilacs From the Garden
Now that May is here and the lilacs are blooming, I thought it would be fun to create a spring tablescape. Come see how I created the perfect outdoor May spring table with fresh lilacs from the garden.
I absolutely love it when this beautiful spring flower starts blooming. Its gorgeous deep color and extraordinary scent make lilacs the perfect flower for any May spring table.

A Garden Party of Color
A vintage patterned quilt was used as a tablecloth to add another shade of purple to compliment the lilacs.
The green lawn and umbrella, and the blue water in the bay, added even more stunning color. As a result, it created the perfect backdrop for this outdoor meal!
Yellow bowls and a vintage green bowl of lemons brought the perfect pop of color to the table.
A hint of green and turquoise, and a lot of white, finished off my May Day spring table perfectly.
Romantic Touches for a May Day Spring Table
Clusters of lilacs tucked inside some twine is a romantic touch, don’t you think?
Lilac sprigs sprinkled here and there around the table are a sweet touch.
The Great Outdoors
The original plan was to create my spring tablescape inside. But I was pleasantly surprised when the sun came quite unexpectedly.
A Vintage Spring Table
I love vintage decor almost as much as I love flowers. What better way to show off this spring table than adding some of my favorite thrifted finds.
Flower Options
Not everyone has a garden full of blooming lilacs right now, so another option would be to use some faux flowers to finish off your spring tablescape.

What a beautiful tablescape. I love everything about it, but especially using the vintage quilt as a tablecloth. It adds a lovely texture to the look. I love all these beautiful tablescapes! I still have my inside DR table set for Easter! LOL I’m finally taking it down this week, but here in NY we’ve had some pretty cool & rainy weather tho the past weekend was nice. I guess I’ll spend the next few days putting up my summer curtains & setting my inside for summer, while the outside yard will get done hopefully around Memorial Day. Thanks for some lovely ideas for both inside & out.
