This and That
Happy Sunday, friends!
Can you believe we’re already into December? The days are going so quickly, and I’m just trying to soak up every festive moment before the season rushes past.
This past week was full of all the holiday feels. I spent an afternoon making wreaths (one of my favorite December traditions), and then headed out on a girls’ shopping trip down to Tigard, Oregon this weekend.
There’s a lot to share, so let’s jump in!

A Cozy Afternoon of Wreath Making

I think you all know I love making wreaths during the holiday season. It is the highlight of my holiday season.

One of the highlights of my week was a little wreath-making afternoon with a friend.

We bundled up, grabbed our clippers, and wandered through both of our gardens, gathering whatever greenery felt right for the moment.

Armfuls of evergreen branches, sprigs of rosemary, boxwood, various kinds of shrubs, and some gorgeous magnolia branches from my tree are always my favorites.

We pulled out the grapevine wreaths we’ve been reusing for years (truly the MVPs of holiday crafting) and set up at the table on my deck.

It was one of those perfectly crisp, sunny late-fall Sundays—cold enough to see your breath, but full of that golden light that makes everything feel a little magical.

We snacked on Thanksgiving leftovers, chatted about life, and before we knew it, we had created four or five wreaths each.

Every single one looked completely different, which is the fun part of working with whatever the garden gives you.

It was simple but festive, and honestly, the perfect way to ease into December.
Girls’ Weekend in Tigard, Oregon

Here’s the thing about a girls’ trip: yes, the shopping is fantastic, but it’s really the laughter, the wandering, the “should we grab a latte first?” moments, and the feeling of being off duty for a day that make it so special.
This weekend, we road-tripped down to Tigard, Oregon, for some serious Christmas shopping.

We started at Bridgeport Village, which basically transforms into a holiday shopping wonderland this time of year.
Twinkle lights everywhere, festive displays in every window, and Anthropologie calling our names the moment we arrived.
Then we made our way to the Woodburn Outlet Mall, where I may or may not have gone a little overboard at the Ugg store. (In my defense, fluffy boots are practically a PNW winter essential.)
Our final stop was Washington Square, where my usual favorites — Nordstrom and Pottery Barn — were fully stocked with holiday inspiration. Let’s just say I came home with plenty of ideas…and maybe a few bags.

One stop that’s become a non-negotiable on our way into town is La Provence Boulangerie & Patisserie. It’s officially a tradition at this point.
What do I love most? The atmosphere. Their patio feels like a little European getaway — bistro lights strung overhead, outdoor heaters keeping everyone cozy, and that charming December bustle that somehow makes everything taste even better.

And the baked goods? Phenomenal. Beautiful. Impossible to choose just one.
It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer, sipping something warm and sampling far too many pastries… which, honestly, feels like part of the holiday magic.

One of my favorite stops of the weekend was Zupan’s Market — truly a gem for holiday décor and festive inspiration. Everywhere you look, there’s something beautiful, seasonal, and utterly gift-worthy.

I’m heading home today with a few special pieces for our cottage and some lovely gifts I can’t wait to wrap up. There’s nothing like finding those just-right treasures.
