Saltwater Sounds Weekly Wrap-Up

Welcome to Saltwater Soundsa collection of ideas, tips, and inspiration. This is where I share all that’s been happening in the world of Shiplap and Shells, what’s to come and the inspiration I have found from other bloggers around the web.

This and That…

Happy Sunday! I hope you’ve been enjoying your weekend.

I’ll be working in the greenhouse trying to finish sowing my seeds while it rains outside for the next few days.

What have you been up to this weekend?

A Girls Trip to Sumner, WA.

I took my friend to Sumner last week for some antique and nursery shopping for the day. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate her birthday. Oh, and lunch at Sorci’s Italian Cafe was delicious!

WINDMILL GARDENS

Windmill Gardens had a great selection of herbs, spring bulbs, and flowers.

And you have to love “Succulent Man”.

I can’t wait to refresh my herb planter on my deck and the herb garden next to my greenhouse.

There were plenty of primroses too.

VANLIEROP GARDEN MARKET

I LOVE this place! VanLierop Garden Market not only has plants and flowers here but there are many vintage yard art pieces as well.

I’ll share more next week in my Shopping Sumner post. I bought not just one, but two vintage bile baskets I can’t wait to show you.

Above is a sneak peek of the indoor section of the garden market.

INTA VINTAGE

We had so much fun shopping for vintage at Inta Vintage. I got some amazing deals which I will share in my blog post next week.

I’ll give you a hint…I spent $12.50 on a blue floral lap quilt. There are so many booths with really fun vintage pieces.

The Garden -Mid March

Allergies got the best of me last week, even keeping me in bed until mid-afternoon one day.

Luckily I felt better yesterday and spent a few hours in the greenhouse garden. It was the strangest day with temperatures hitting 54°F and the sun shining in the morning.

And then, it started raining about 2:30 PM. I look at it as a great way to get all my new plantings watered.

I cleaned up the garden beds and planted some evergreen shrubs in this space. I am learning that being an “all about the flowers” girl is making my garden look pretty drab and empty in the winter and early spring months.

Speaking of flowers, I’m working on getting some spring color in my containers including violas, pansies, grasses, spring bulbs, and primroses.
