Welcome to Saltwater Sounds, a collection of ideas, tips, and inspiration. This is where I share all that’s been happening in the world of Shiplap and Shells, what’s to come and the inspiration I have found from other bloggers around the web.
This and That…
How’s your weekend? I hope you are having the best time no matter what you are doing.
I have to tell you, I am so grateful to have cooler weather in our Seattle area. Sadly, the air has been filling up with wildfire smoke for the last few days.
As you are reading this, I am on our boat, Wildflower with my hubby and the boys (Jax and Ollie for those of you who don’t know who the boys are).
More about our trip in a moment. First, let me show you the fun I’ve been having drying my cut flowers.
I LOVE drying summer flowers every year.
And it’s so easy!
This is the first year I’ve grown yarrow and I will grow it again…I love it. And it will make the best bouquet of dried flowers.
I had a friend helping me cut flowers and hang them upside down in my pantry to dry.
Someone told me that bachelor’s button could be dried. I tried it and they all died. Lesson learned.
Here are my pretty flowers drying. Our pantry is the perfect place to dry flowers because it’s cool, dry, and dark.

This is the first week I haven’t published a new blog post in I don’t know how long.
Between going on our boat trip this week and losing a loved one,( not all friends and family have been notified of the passing so I can’t talk about it until next week) life caught up with me.
But I have…
- some wonderful inspiration from other bloggers below.
- A new fall home decor post on Monday!
