Saltwater Sounds Weekly: Better Late Than Ever

Welcome to Saltwater Sounds, a collection of ideas, tips, and inspiration. This is where I share everything happening in the world of Shiplap and Shells, what’s to come, and the inspiration I’ve found from other bloggers around the web.

This and That

Happy December. How have you been welcoming in the new month?

I always say “Better late than never”. I went away for the weekend, computer in hand, with the expectation of finishing this post and sending an email on Sunday, like always.

Sadly, it didn’t happen. My computer wouldn’t turn on the entire weekend. My hubby figured out it was a battery issue once I got home. And here I am, a couple of days late.

But I made it.

Wreath making workshop

How is the holiday season treating you so far?

A friend and I went to a wreath-making workshop last Thursday at Harbor Nest in Gig Harbor.

Wheelbarrow of fresh greens

It a so much fun! We had so many fresh greenery options to choose from.

Here’s a picture of a wreath that someone made at the workshop.

More about the girl’s shopping trip to Oregon this weekend.

We started at the outdoor mall, Bridgeport Village, in Tigard, Oregon.

My favorite stores were Anthropologie, Sundance, and Madewell.

Brunch at La Provence in Lake Oswego was amazing! I loved this outdoor covered patio with heaters that kept us warm on a rainy day.

We decided to try the mimosa flights. Above are two flights with 8 different flavors including my favorite, lavender, and also raspberry, strawberry, hibiscus, pineapple, orange, pomegranate, and grapefruit.

Check out their beautiful bakery items.

Next door was the incredible Zupan’s Market.

Of course, I loved the holiday home decor.

The seasonal flowers were gorgeous.

And if you’re looking for blue and white decor instead, they’ve got you covered.

I’ll share a few more things from the trip next week so stay tuned. AND…we’re getting on our boat, Wildflower, and heading to Gig Harbor for a few days for the lighted boat parade.

I can’t wait to share all the fun with you next Sunday.
