Saltwater Sounds: A Week on the Water With Wildflower
Welcome to this week’s edition of Saltwater Sounds, a collection of ideas, tips, and inspiration. Here, I share everything happening in the world of Shiplap and Shells, what to look forward to on the blog, and the inspiration I’ve found throughout the week.

This and That
How was your first week of June?
Ours has been absolutely gorgeous, with warmer-than-normal temperatures in the high seventies and low eighties. We may even see 85° today and tomorrow.
This week’s post is full of coastal charm, warm weather adventures, and some small-town fun. We’ve been boating, shopping, exploring, and soaking in every bit of sunshine.
It really is amazing how much a perfect warm sunny day can lift your spirits and motivation.

June Boating Adventures Aboard Wildflower
We took another early summer boating trip this week aboard Wildflower. Our first stop was Vashon Island, where we stayed at the Quartermaster Yacht Club.
We hopped on e-bikes and rode into town, which was such a fun way to explore.
One of the highlights was stumbling across the most charming nursery, filled with unique plants grown by local gardeners on the island.
They also had an amazing collection of rustic and vintage-style wire accessories (and some reproductions that were just as beautiful after rusting outdoors for years).
We brought home a sweet iron hanging planter that I can’t wait to find the perfect spot for.
Take a look at all the fabulous things they had here…
I’ll share more next week about our trip to Gig Harbor, where the weekend was packed with events and sunshine.
A Walk Around the Garden
Before we left, I made sure to snap a bunch of photos during one of our evening strolls.
There’s something about the bistro lights glowing over the garden that makes everything feel extra magical, don’t you think?
It’s still mostly green out there, but you can just feel the shift coming.
In just a few weeks, the garden will look completely different.
I’m always amazed at how quickly things grow and change this time of year.
It’s like watching a new garden unfold every month.
