Saltwater Sounds Weekly: Hello April
Welcome to Saltwater Sounds, a collection of ideas, tips, and inspiration. This is where I share everything happening in the world of Shiplap and Shells, what’s to come, and the inspiration I’ve found from other bloggers around the web.
This and That…
Hello April! We’ve been waiting for you.
I’ve been in Palm Springs for a few days with some of my girlfriends. It rained the first day, but the sun was out Friday and Saturday, and we’ve been hanging by the pool. It’s been so nice!
Here are some of the pics I took on my short daily walk.
I did well with my knee while traveling. I ordered a wheelchair because my stamina is not where it used to be, and I’m so glad I did!
Here’s the morning view from my room.
I’ve been doing my PT exercises and icing just like I would be at home. It’s been great to get away for a few days. We’re headed back tonight.

Around the Garden and Greenhouse
The greenhouse is at full capacity these days. I just sowed the sunflower seeds indoors so the birds don’t mess with them. It seemed to work pretty well last year.
I may be crazy, but I don’t think my seedlings look any bigger than they did the past few years without any grow lights.
Other than the sweet peas, cosmos, and zinnias, the other seedlings are still tiny.
The tulips in the cut flower garden raised beds are starting to take off.
I even see some blooms trying to make their way out. I can’t wait to show you them next week!
I divide these primroses every year, and they still double in size each spring. They are a beautiful color, and eventually, my entire garden will be full of them in the spring,
The hyacinth spring bulbs are at the top of their game right now. I planted these last year and absolutely love the colors.
The daffodils are the star of the show in my garden right now.
