Saltwater Sounds Weekly Wrap-Up
Welcome to Saltwater Sounds, a collection of ideas, tips, and inspiration. This is where I share all that’s been happening in the world of Shiplap and Shells, what’s to come and the inspiration I have found from other bloggers around the web.
This and That…
I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend so far.
This has basically been the view for the past few days. We are FINALLY drying out but the fog is thick.
I am excited about the possibility of working in the garden this week. Fingers crossed.

A Trip to Target
I had a few hours to kill between my teeth cleaning and Dr. appointment the other day. So I took a trip through the local Target was a fun distraction.
I couldn’t believe all the faux plants! Of course, this inspired me to take down the faux evergreen trees, pinecones, and sleds. They were replaced with faux plants and rose-colored pillows for some color.
Here are the home decor items I purchased at Target…
Both Threshold Studio McGee and Hearth and Hand with Magnolia brands had some great things in the stores.
Garden Inspiration at Metropolitan Market
Going grocery shopping was pretty fun with all the garden-inspired items to see.
Aren’t these the most beautiful colors?
Look at these amazing cakes! Rosettes and petals…garden-inspired for sure.
I’ve always wanted to take classes on cake decorating. It’s definitely on the bucket list.
I was a good girl and didn’t buy anything in the bakery section but how fun is this petal cake?
Boat Update
My husband and I went shopping for quartz last week for the new boat renovations.
We were so excited to find some remnants so it will be less expensive to add quartz to the boat galley.
What’s Happening at Shiplap and Shells…

Well, at first I was jealous at how stocked up your Target is…but then I was distracted by those freakin’ cakes!! Give me the rosette one and a fork and I’d be all set!!
I know! Isn’t it amazing? I really want to make one someday.
I am excited we can get in the garden this week. Sun is arriving and I can’t wait to dig out my dahlias. Yes, I am going for it, want to dig them out to replan where I place them. I have big plans for a lot more flowers and even more plans for growing my food this year. Even if we are not able to find out farm, we will make our little garden work for us the best way possible.
Your garden space may be small but you’ve done such an amazing job getting so many plants in your garden. Can’t wait to see what you do this coming year.
Love the new countertops for the boat. My favorite and thank you so much for sharing this week. I’m always so grateful to Kim??
Thank you, Ann. I always love your blog posts.
Wow that fog is pretty amazing! Who would know there’s water right out there?! LOVE your Target purchases, and I can’t wait to see what you choose for the boat – that’s so exciting! Thanks for sharing all the goodness! Happy Sunday up there!
Target has some really good things in the store this winter. And the prices are really good.
Kim I need to get to Target! They look like they’ve got great stuff out right now!!!! Those cakes are super cool and I can’t wait to see how the boat looks when you are done!!! Thanks for sharing my new garden this week! I can’t wait to garden with you this year.
I would just love to learn how to decorate a cake like that Stacy. But if the cake is in my house I might have to eat it. So I’ll just look at them in the store.
