What’s Going on in the World of Shiplap and Shells

We FINALLY have some sun!

Supposedly, a Category 5 atmospheric river, stretching 2,700 miles across the Pacific was drenching the Northwest this last week. We’re known for rain, but not this much. 25% of our annual rainfall has already fallen this month. It’s officially the wettest start to a year in Seattle history.

Isn’t this the most beautiful sunrise? The color was not edited at all. Wow!

I know, I know. There are some of you out there that would love the rain, and I get it. But with 7.45″ of rain in the first 12 days of January, we would be happy to give those of you that need rain some of ours. Heck, I’d give you all of February’s rainfall if I could.

Enough about the weather…

Winter Home Decor Blog Hop

My house has FINALLY been purged of everything Christmas, and replaced with warm & cozy winter decor. In my blog post, I share some tips on how I decorate for winter. I’ve joined 10 other bloggers for a Winter Home Decor Blog Hop. For even more inspiration, their links are at the end of my blog post.

Ollie the Puppy

Here’s my favorite winter accessory! Puppy Ollie has been having a hard time. If the truth be told, Ollie’s mom has been having a really hard time too (I am so tired).

First, Ollie brought fleas home to us. We think we have gotten a handle on it, and there has been a lot of laundry that has been done! Then, this baby had his second set of shots, and he was miserable the next day. He cried ALL DAY! But, we got through all of that too.

I picked Ollie up yesterday to get a little dose of puppy love, and he stunk. I mean, he seriously STUNK! Upon further investigation, and an appointment with the vet, we discovered he had a bacterial infection in each ear. The poor guy has been through the ringer. Hopefully this is his last issue.

All About the Garden

I shared my Top 5 Gardening Blog Posts for 2020 last week. I’m getting the greenhouse ready for seed sowing at the end of the month. Do you clean your plant containers each year before sowing your seeds? It’s so important in order to prevent diseases. I use a 10% bleach / 90% water mix. That should be done soon.

30% Off Fall & Holiday Candles

The Antique Candle Co. is offering their fall and Christmas candles 30% off while supplies last. And there’s more! Free shipping for all US orders over $50. I’m enjoying my Pecan Pie as I’m writing this.

What I’m Working on for Next Week:

I’ll be sharing more gardening blog posts and a story about how we picked our forever home. I’ll be organizing my pantry soon, wish me luck!
