Simple Spring Home Tour

  • Email

I always love decorating for spring! It’s when I pull out all the bright pops of color again! Thank you for being here for a simple Spring Home Tour. You’ll see how I refreshed a few things around the house and brought in some flower blooms.

Kitchen Spring Tour

Spring decorating is so easy, in my opinion, especially in the kitchen. Colorful fruit is always an easy way to brighten up the room, with my favorite being lemons! You can put them in a bowl, a cloche or a dough bowl. No matter where you put them, they will surely liven things up!

This spring has been more of a challenge, with the fact that we don’t go shopping very often anymore. I usually enjoy fresh lemons in my dough bowl, but I have compromised with the faux version, because I didn’t have enough to fill the bowl. So, I took some moss decorative balls from another room to help fill it up. I also added some faux eucalyptus to complete the look.

A bucket full of tulips makes any home feel like spring.

Who doesn’t love a bunch of gorgeous spring tulips in your home? This picture was taken right after I had made a trip to Trader Joe’s, just before we were ordered to stay home. It seems so long ago.

For spring, I pack most of my copper away until fall. I bring out more greens and whites for spring time.

Here’s the Easter tablescape I created this year. Looks can be deceiving, there were only two of us this year for dinner.

I wanted to have a bright and colorful table, and found these place mats and plates at the Pioneer Woman. For more views of my simple Easter tablescape, click here.

Freshening up the living room starts with changing out the more neutral colored pillows, with more brights, like yellows and turquioses.

Flowers are always big around here, no matter the season.

Faux forsythia looks just as pretty as fresh.

It’s much harder to find fresh flowers early in the spring season. I have my buckets of faux flowers that look great when I’m not able to get to the store to buy blooms. Here are some forsythia faux blooms.

These are some of the most beautiful faux peonies I’ve found.

Lavender goes with any spring vignette.

I can’t write a blog post about spring home decor without having a picture of one of my favorite flowers, lilacs. This picture is from last year, because our lilacs in the garden are just starting to bloom.

I’m a little obsessed with decorative pillows! I change the colors a couple of times throughout the spring season.

Faux flowers and plants are such a great option when you are first starting the spring season, and you don’t have access to fresh plants.

Bedroom Spring Tour

I changed out my heavy blankets for lighter bedding, and added flowers to the room, when switching over to spring. For more about how to freshen up your bedroom for spring, click here to see my blog post.

I add a few vignettes with spring blooms around the room to brighten it up.

I hope you enjoyed my simple spring home tour. I’ll be adding more spring flowers and decor to this post as the season goes on.

    Good Morning Kim!
I just want to tell you that I am so in love with your home! What a beautiful, inspiring and refreshing blog post! So wonderful to look at the photos! Your kitchen and dining area, in fact all of your home, have those lovely vintage touches that I am so fond of. They add warmth and a coziness. The colors are so lovely. I really enjoy all the natural textures and the plants, whether real or faux. You are so talented and creative, Kim. In every corner, in every room, one gets the sense of the thought and care you have put into what goes there. I am saving the email for this blog post as inspiration for my own home. Your style very much reflects my own. Thank you!

Kim, I thoroughly enjoyed the home tour. As soon as I finish this message I’m going to get my faux lemons out of the drawer and onto a surface. Great reminder. Love the switch from fall/winter bedding, pillows & decor and do the same myself. The green and white dishes look wonderful. Your beach cottage and garden are so aspirational, particularly now when shopping is verboten. Thank you as always for sharing. I love everything about your home, both inside and out.
