When it comes to decorating for Christmas, my cottage kitchen is my favorite room to transform for the holidays. Let me take you on a Christmas cottage kitchen tour.
I already told you that my cottage kitchen is my favorite room to decorate for Christmas. And why is this room my favorite? Because it’s so easy to bring in all those outdoor elements to create a magical space.
Whether it’s seasonal fruits (pomegranates are my favorites), berries, or branches from an evergreen tree, this is an effortless way to spruce up your kitchen.

I love the fact that you don’t have to take much of your everyday decor out of the kitchen for Christmas. You can just add holiday touches to the mix, such as garland, berries, and a wreath or two.
Christmas Wreaths
Add a festive touch by placing a wreath on the range hood! Fresh rosemary not only looks pretty in the kitchen but smells amazing! In water, it lasts for weeks.
Garland
Garland around the pot rack definitely says Christmas! I experimented by adding the color red to my cottage kitchen this year. I was afraid of how it would look with the turquoise cabinet. But I was pleasantly surprised by how well the two went together.
A few poinsettias sitting in the sink would make a great statement, and look great in an Instagram Christmas post! I am on the hunt for vintage thermoses, so my shelving can make an even bigger statement.
Open Shelving
You can do so much with open shelving in a kitchen. And there is always room for a wreath of bells on the glass cabinet. I brought in the Santa Claus Lane sign to add a pop of red to the room.
Decorating the Kitchen Nook
For a more festive look, I added bay leaf garland around the windows. The centerpiece is an old vintage chicken feeder, filled with rustic ornaments, berries, and greens. The greenery was both faux and fresh from the yard.
Using Food as Christmas Decor Props
Some great kitchen decor props are pomegranates, candy canes, and baked goods.
