Colorful Cottage Living Room Summer Tour
Welcome to my colorful cottage living room summer tour. While there is a friendly debate this time of year as to who is “team summer” and who is on “team fall”, I am still enjoying my summer decor. Because technically, it IS still summer, isn’t it?

Coastal Beach Vibe
I went with more of a coastal beach vibe because it’s perfect for that summer cottage feel.
Vintage oars were placed in the corner of the room, adding a touch of coastal charm to my summer living room.
Nothing says beach cottage more than this whale picture I bought a few years ago at a local shop in Gig Harbor, WA.
This Fresh Puget Sound Fish sign is one of my favorites.
Decorative Pillows
I’ve changed my pillow colors to navy blue and yellow for summer.
These navy and white pillows were one of my favorite purchases this summer. I bought them at Pier 1. Unfortunately, they were sold out when I tried to purchase more.
I’m so sad that they are closing their stores for good. I will miss shopping there.
Fresh Cut Flowers
Fresh cut flowers from my garden are my very favorite kind of summer decor. For example, I cut these hydrangeas from several different bushes in my garden, brightening up the room with these stunning colors.
Fresh flowers and seashells make the perfect combination when it comes to coffee table decor.
More fresh flowers from my cottage garden include dahlias, strawflowers, zinnias, and bee balm.
Pops of Summer Color
I’m always looking for new ways to add interest to the living room, so I brought all my colorful glass bottles from another room. They are a great option for summer cottage decor.
All corners of my summer living room feature blues and greens.
Thanks for taking a tour of my colorful cottage living room summer tour! Even if your heart is into fall decor already, I hope it was still fun for you to take a look at what I did to make my summer living room take on a colorful coastal cottage feel.

Just now seeing these posts on my Pinterest email. Love the cabinet your quilts are in. Was it a new purchase?
Hi June! That vintage cabinet is perfect for my quilts. I’ve had it for years but I did paint it a pale blue last year. I don’t show it much because of where it’s at so that’s probably why you haven’t seen it.
Love your style and all the colors. Good news .. Pier One still has online shopping.
Thank you Carol! I am so happy to hear that Pier 1 will still be online. I seriously love my pillows!
This is such a gorgeous coastal summer home tour, Kim! I love the oars, artwork and the pillows you found too. They’re all fabulous. I love Fall but man it is so hard to get into the mood when it’s in the high 90s with 100% humidty. That said, I’m ready for the change of pace and I’m looking forward to a pumpkin spice latte too 🙂 Big hugs, CoCo
I am holding onto summer as long as I possibly can CoCo! I don’t think I could get in the mood with those temps either! But you did have me at Pumpkin Spice Latte! Thank you for visiting!
Kim, I adore your summer living room. It is so inviting and a charming space for your family to enjoy. Autumn is my favorite season, but I don’t like rushing the seasons, I love to embrace each one. Have a lovely day!
Thank you Pam. I feel the same way about not rushing the seasons. I love them all, except for winter in January and February. Those I can do without!
Your home is adorable Kim! Love it, and thanks for sharing it with us!!
Thank you so much Michele! I am so glad you took the time to visit. Enjoy your week!
Hi Kim-
what a wonderful summer living room! In the photo of the whale and other elements, there is some kind of “bottle” with sand and shells in it…what is that?
Thanks for all the inspiration!
Kate
Thank you Kate! I found that vintage bottle at an antique store, and yes it has sand and shells in it.
I love to embrace each season, I don’t care for rushing time! It goes by fast enough as it is! I enjoyed this tour, it is fresh and inviting!
Thank you Jennifer! I completely agree with you.
I’m on team summer as long as possible at least until September 15 th , fall is beautiful in Montana but why rush.
Your cottage living room ready shows off it’s beach cottage roots loved the glass doorknobs as tie backs for your
window treatments.
Thanks for sharing your home with us !
Thank you for visiting Alexis! Most people don’t notice the glass knob curtain holders. Good eye! Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.
I LOVE it! Everything looks awesome. Yes, team summer here, too, and we have a whale cutout hanging in our living room…it says “Whalecome”. My grown boys are embarrassed by it, ha!
Welcome to team summer! Good to know that you are part of the living room whale club as well.
