Happy Sunday, friends! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week. Can you believe we’re close to wrapping up April?

This was another busy week in the garden, and we finished up the last of the big spring projects—more on that later in the post.

Spring moves fast, doesn’t it? We’ve gone from crocuses and hyacinths to daffodils and tulips, and now the lilacs are blooming. Don’t blink—something new seems to pop up every day.

Now, we’re watching and waiting for the alliums and peonies to make their debut.

Sunny, hot days aren’t ideal for those sensitive young seedlings, but I had a timing issue and really needed to get this process started.

After seeing some flower varieties go into transplant shock, I decided to put up some shade cloth over the beds for a few days to help them adjust. It made such a difference giving them a little extra protection while they settled in.

Checking the Irrigation System for Repairs

We also spent time checking the sprinkler and drip systems, making repairs here and there to get everything ready for the growing season ahead.

Having the watering system running smoothly is such a relief, especially as the garden starts to fill in and temperatures continue to climb.
