Saltwater Sounds Wrap-Up
Welcome to Saltwater Sounds, a collection of ideas, tips, and inspiration. This is where I share all that’s been going on in the world of Shiplap and Shells, what’s to come and the inspiration I have found from other bloggers around the web.
Random This & That
Good morning from the sunny Pacific Northwest.
I hope you are enjoying your Halloween weekend so far.
We don’t get trick-or-treaters at our house but I always buy a bag of candy just in case. The thing is, I need to stop buying my favorite Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and get the candy I don’t like as much, like Starbursts or Skittles so I won’t end up eating the entire bag by myself!

We went to a Halloween costume party last night. When I can’t come up with creative costume ideas I go as a witch. I just throw on a black wig, some make-up, and this hat I’ve had for over 10 years.
Do you see all the spiders attached to the veil? How cool is that?
I’m still on the hunt for a coffee table to go with the new couch. We stopped at West Elm last weekend when we were in Seatle.
They have the best pillows and rugs!
What a fabulous store!
I’ve decided I need to go with a round coffee table for more of a balance in the living room. But I do like the top of this table.
There are a lot of tables with marble tops in the stores right now.
Here’s a round table, but not really my style. I’m not finding any coffee tables that are bigger than 38 inches though. So my search continues.
Speaking of shopping, I made a trip to the local Target this week. There were all kinds of fun things in the Hearth and Hand with Magnolia section of the store.
In the Garden
Sadly, there won’t be many more pictures of pretty flowers.
The pouring rain and wind have pretty much destroyed the garden. Luckily I had taken a few pictures the week before so I thought I would share them with you today.
I need to get out to the dahlias and label them before the blooms are all gone. That way, I’ll know which tubers I’m pulling up and splitting next April.
Because we have a more mild winter, and I layer mulch on top of the plants, I don’t dig mine out of the ground in the fall.
I’ve planted more than half of my spring bulbs this fall but am still waiting for more to arrive.
This tree causes quite a mess! But it’s also great for mulching the leaves and spreading them throughout my garden beds for protection from the winter temperatures.

Have you tried the Spiced Cranberry yet? It’s AMAZING! It’s the newest fragrance added to the Christmas collection with a medley of ripe cranberries and bright orange, intertwined with a spiced blend of clove, allspice and cinnamon sticks.

Your custom is my worst nightmare, spiders!!! lol!!! Such a great custom!!!
Hello! Does a coffee table hunt mean you’ll be getting rid of your beautiful blue one?!
I am so sad that the blue table doesn’t match the color of the new couch. But now that I have cleaned the upstairs room and made it into a studio, I’ll keep it up there with the white couch. I just can’t part with it.
Kim
You are so sweet to share my Thanksgiving table. Loved your wrap up this week.
Thank you, Rachel.
Kim, you look so adorable in your costume. How fun! Thank you for sharing my Thanksgiving side dish recipe this week. I hope you get a chance to try it…I’d love to know what you think!
Thank you, Jen! I am so excited to try your recipe.
That tree may be messy but it sure is full of Fall color!
Kim, love your witch’s costume!! I’ve got a few bulbs left to plant too- thanks for the reminder to do so! Happy Halloween!
I can’t believe how long it’s taking the company to send the bulbs. You’ve inspired me to dress up as a spooky bride like you next year.
