Whether you have a mantel or not, I’m sure there’s a special spot in your bedroom just waiting to be decorated with garland for the holidays.

Faux garland can be more expensive than going into your yard and picking up fallen branches from a windstorm or cutting some greenery from a tree or bush.

Using some faux garland from years and years ago made it so I didn’t have to spend any money this year on the garland.

Mixing my faux and fresh greenery made an even bigger and bolder impact. I also found a few pine tree branches on the ground and cut some branches from the trees.

So now what? You have your garland, but now you need to spruce it up! I am a believer that all garland needs twinkle lights on them to be legitimate.

I also add oranges, berries, or anything else to add a pop of color and interest to the greenery. Dried oranges were incredibly popular this holiday season. I dried my first set of orange slices this year, and you can find the post here.

It seems that every year, there are extra ornaments left over from the Christmas tree. And what better way to display them than to add them to a bowl, tray, or vintage container like this chicken feeder I found?

Greenery and pinecones, if found in your yard or on a nature walk, will not only add some interest but will also cost nothing.

If you don’t have any extra ornaments, you can find some clear glass balls and make some mercury glass ornaments for a lot less than buying them at the store.

I have already tried the mercury glass technique on my lamp, and it was so easy, but I will try my hand at some ornaments next.

You can spend A LOT OF MONEY on a wreath. But more and more people are making their own these days and using them to decorate their bedrooms and other rooms for the holiday. And it costs very little!

This magnolia wreath pictured above was made from everything I found in my garden. I even used grapevines for the wreath base. I have a magnolia tree, I know I am a very lucky girl.

If you have to go to a nursery, then it will cost you more money. At that point, I would make a friend with a magnolia tree of their own!

These two faux boxwood mini wreaths hanging on my built-in came from Walmart. I’ll be honest: I don’t love the quality now that I see them in person, but they look good in pictures!

I bought some ribbon at Michael’s when it was 50% off, which improved the look.

Twinkle lights wrapped around your greenery make everything look magical and festive for the holidays. I hung a garland around the window trim and added some lights here.

I’ve also added them to my mantel garland. Twinkle lights are becoming increasingly affordable.

This is the easiest and least expensive way to decorate your bedroom for the holidays. I’ll go on a walk and cut fresh pine tree branches, rosemary, and anything else available to add to my various pitchers and vases.

Yes, it’s zero dollars if you use an existing pitcher you already own. And here’s the bonus: It keeps your home smelling fresh and beautiful.

If you want to save money, the Target Dollar Spot is a great place to do just that. I bought quite a few reasonable things this year.

Galvanized houses and bottle brush trees were the rage this year, just like last year. But I found they were more reasonably priced this year if you know where to look.

Add faux or fresh greenery to your chandelier or light fixture for a festive holiday look. Take it one step further by hanging ornaments off the ends of the fixture.

The great thing about bringing a Christmas tree to the bedroom for the holidays is that ANY bedroom has room for one. I am living proof!

My bedroom is so tiny that I can’t even have a dresser (that’s what the built-ins are for). However, there are amazing mini trees available at reasonable prices.
